HB White Guppy Fish

The wonderful Guppy (scientific name: Poecilia reticulata) will “beat out” all other fish due to its variations, each of which presents a stunning appearance, interesting personalities and vivid interaction with community fish in your aquarium.

Catching your first sight with such tender and graceful movements just like a soft feather falling down slowly in the air is exactly what HB White Guppy Fish appear and make aquarists fall for them. This is thanks to the feather-like effect created by the unique allocation of white shade on the HB White’s caudal fin, which is not only the outstanding feature of the fish but also a highlight to every aquarium keeping them.

Guppies are native to northeast South America. Despite the fact, most HB White Guppy specimens available in the aquarium market nowadays are captive-bred. HB White Guppy Fish is quite easy-going in terms of water conditions, which makes them a strong recommendation for aquarium hobby beginners considering its hardiness, peaceful disposition, active personalities, and even cleverness enough to recognize you are nearby. It is also true to say the live-bearing fish can tolerate quite many beginner mistakes. Yet, given the stable water parameters environment (warm temperature around 70°F with hard water in the pH range of 6 – 8), HB White Guppy Fish would thrive to their utmost. Little beautiful HB White Guppy fish enjoy moderate current flows. In wild habitat, the guppies live on shoals hence, in captivity, HB White Guppy Fish will appreciate living in groups. A 10-gallon fish tank could not be more perfect for a colony of Guppies though the bigger the better. Stick to the rule of thumb that one fish per two gallons in case you are unable to decide the proper aquarium for them.

Apart from the above, HB White Guppy Fish do not have any special requirements for their living environment. You can fill up your tank with any decorative materials like live aquatic plants, driftwood, rock caves, or substrate as long as they meet your personal taste. Guppy is truly fond of live aquarium plants and they surely enjoy the surroundings added with java moss, java fern, amazon sword plants.

HB White Guppy Fish are often regarded peaceful animals, therefore, they can get along well with many fish sharing such common disposition, such as platies, neon tetras, or zebrafish and so on. Besides, they are also not picky at all when it comes to diet. HB White Guppy Fish can accept a variety of common fish food such as pellets, fish flakes, frozen/dry foods, bloodworms, brine shrimp, etc. Sometimes, they even graze on algae growing inside your aquarium. All you need to do is make sure they feed on high-quality food once or twice every day, with an amount enough for them to consume in two or three minutes.

Only one thing that seems to be the issue yet interesting is breeding. Guppy is easy to breed. If you randomly search for ‘Easy to Breed Fish’, Guppy is always at the top. There is no need for external stimulation to cause this little fish to breed. When they mature, the male will naturally chase the female for courting. And just after one insemination, the female can easily give birth several times since they can store sperm for multiple breeding, even after parting from males. Hence, if you intend to have a guppy group or guppy only tank, remember to separate the male from female or else a population boom may occur.

White female guppies

Very fast shipping with UPS, however when the fish arrived I put a digital thermometer on the bag and the water temperature was below 60. 5 of the fish were robust, but 1 was weak and died 2 days later.

I did a proper quarantine in a fully cycled tank, all of the guppies I got died within 2 weeks. Very WEAK genetics it seems. Highly disappointed, communication through out the purchase was horrible. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Awesome Fish from an Awesome Store

First I must say how much I appreciate the owner of Splashy Fish. He has helped me with understanding everything from cycling my tank to keeping my fish in the best possible health. He is an incredibly patient and earnest teacher with a wealth of knowledge about Bettas and Guppies that he is willing to share. This new location is spacious and filled with a variety of fish. The first thing you see when walking into the store is a large hi-tech plant terrarium which is self-regulating next to a beautiful aquascape with freshwater fish. Behind this is a stunning framed large moss sculpture that the owner designed and has mounted on display. It is breathtaking. And the fish! The tank of Discus fish is mesmerizing. I was looking to add some guppies to my aquarium and ended up with three types: half-body white guppy, half-moon tiger, and white platinum. I wish that I could have chosen a few more, but I was advised to add new fish gradually rather than all at once. These new guppies are so playful and full of life. They hang out together and seem to have a great time exploring their environment. Each one is striking to look at, and the platinum is completely elegant. The half-body white guppy has so much personality. He engages the others at all times and will swim alongside the cardinal tetras (which I also got from Splashy Fish about a year ago) and the tetras don't mind. He is always full of energy, but when it is time to eat, he is on!

I am so thankful to have found this gem of a store in my area. Thank you!
