The order was refused delivery by the customer.
If the order is returned to the sender for any reason. For instance, an incorrect shipping address, an undeliverable address, etc.
The order was held for pick up at USPS, UPS, and FedEx offices for longer than 24 hours after the last update on the tracking number.

For Live Fish and other invertebrates, one and a half hours (1.5 hours) after the posted delivery time.

For Snails: 48 hours after the posted delivery time.

Steps to claim Splashy Fish's Live Arrival Guarantee:

Take a picture of the shipping box and the shipping label.
For live fish and other invertebrates: Please provide two pictures of each bag (containing the dead fish) upon arrival. Ensure the images display the bag in its original, unopened condition with the original rubber band intact
For Snails: Position the snail in one corner of the tank. If the snail does not move within 48 hours, please take several pictures of the snail's opening
Send an email to DOA@splashyfishstore.com with the subject line: DOA and Your Order Number, or message us on social media.
In the body of the email, include your tracking number.
The claim must be sent within the claim period mentioned above.

After submitting the required information, please allow us 1-3 business days to determine the cause of the issue. If the claim is valid and approved by our team, you will

Shipping live animals and plants is a complex process, and temperature plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and secure delivery of your order.

CARE GUIDELINES

Diet: Yellow Peacock Cichlids are omnivores that do best on a varied, protein-rich diet. Feed them a mix of high-quality cichlid pellets, spirulina flakes, and frozen or live treats like brine shrimp and bloodworms. This balanced diet helps promote strong growth, health, and vivid coloration.
Feeding Habits: Active mid-water feeders, these cichlids eagerly accept sinking and floating foods. Feed once or twice daily, ensuring all food is consumed within 2–3 minutes. Avoid overfeeding to maintain clean water conditions and prevent digestive issues.
Social Behavior: Yellow Aulonocaras are semi-aggressive and slightly territorial, especially during spawning. They are generally peaceful compared to other African cichlids and do well in community setups with other Peacock Cichlids (Aulonocara) or compatible Haps. Provide ample hiding spaces and use rocks or caves to reduce aggression and establish territory.
Origin: While the yellow peacock color variant is selectively bred, it originates from Aulonocara species native to Lake Malawi, Africa. These hybrids showcase enhanced color through generations of careful line breeding.
Size: Reaches 4 to 6 inches (10–15 cm) at full adult size. A tank of at least 55 gallons is required, with larger tanks preferred for groups or mixed cichlid communities.

Had a wonderful experience at Splashy Fish and my little aquatic creatures are still very happy and healthy! The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The first time I went they looked at pictures of my set up and gave me recommendations. They said I could buy some fish that day but the little guys would probably fair better if I waited a bit, checked some parameters, and then introduced them in a couple weeks. They really prioritized education (in a kind, friendly way) and helping you build a successful aquarium. They gave me a number of great resources to take home with me to help the process too :). I went back a couple weeks later and bought some little guys and was thrilled!
