The Green Corydoras Fish, also known as the Green Cory Catfish or Green Cory Fish, is a stunning member of the Corydoras family, prized for its shimmering green coloration and peaceful demeanor. Originating from South America, this freshwater fish thrives in community tanks and is a favorite among aquarium enthusiasts. Whether you’re a seasoned aquarist or a beginner, the Green Cory Catfish is a hardy, low-maintenance addition to your aquarium setup.

The Green Corydoras, scientifically known as Corydoras aeneus, is native to the streams and river basins of South America, including regions of Venezuela, Trinidad, and Brazil. Its distinctive metallic green hue and hints of bronze on its flanks make it a visually striking choice for aquariums of any size. This peaceful bottom-dweller is social and thrives in groups, making it an ideal fish for community tanks.

Green Cory Catfish typically grow to an average size of 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) as adults. Their robust body is covered in two rows of bony plates known as scutes, offering protection in their natural habitat. Like other Corydoras species, they feature three pairs of barbels that aid in scavenging for food along the substrate. These barbels, along with sharp defensive spines on their fins, make them well-adapted for survival.

Green Corydoras are renowned for their playful and social nature. They enjoy the company of their own species and should be kept in groups of at least six to promote natural schooling behaviors. They also coexist peacefully with other non-aggressive freshwater fish, such as Tetras, Rasboras, and Guppies Fish.

At Splashy Fish tropical fish store, our Green Corydoras for sale are raised with the utmost care.
